Predicting The Iphone 5 Release Date
The tech world is a buzz with speculations of the mysterious iPhone 5 release date for the new Apple Phone. While the company itself is not throwing any light on this topic, several websites have taken it up on themselves to wager the inauguration day and also posted some news thereof. The speculation is that the arrival could be as early as September 2011, but then it may well have the suffix 4S by then.
As the WWDC week began, this question about the release date began cropping up with greater frequency. Apple did present a lot of information about iOS 5 and their iCloud, at the WWDC, but was strangely tight lipped about the day of inauguration.
Since Apple did not reveal anything about it, it has led to the thinking that probably they wanted the media attention to remain focused on their latest iOS and iCloud. They have made beta version of their latest iOS available for developers alone. Which means they are not planning the release until the latest iOS is completely ready. Also releasing some photos of the latest phone, would have hurt the iPhone 4, the white 4 and the 3GS as well. This could be one possible reason that the inaugural day of iPhone 5 has been held off.
Some of the speculated releasing dates come up from time to time. 9To5Mac is of the opinion that the latest Apple Phone is in the final stages of testing, and has given the inauguration date as September. According to some industry reports, lithium ion batteries are not available as the manufacturing plant at Japan is still shut after the recent quakes, and this might affect the inauguration day.
A sales representative belonging to the UK based Phones 4U is of the opinion that the inauguration date has been moved to November 2011. AT&T customer representatives say, they have been informed by Apple not to expect the release in June or July 2011, therefore, the inauguration may happen around September.
Avian Securities are speculating the day either as September 2011 or early 2012. They feel, production may start in July and availability will be September 2011; with the new Phone hitting the stores only by late 2011 or early 2012.
At a glance, there will certainly be new features in the Apple Phone. These could be a significant increase in the storage capacity, signal strength, battery life and video chat. It is expected that the new Phone will be much thinner. And all this is making the iPhone 5 release date so much more intriguing.
